Getting my deserts into local supermarkets near you!
Getting my deserts into local supermarkets has been such a thrilling experience. I have had to organise my packaging and get barcodes for my deserts that I will be supplying. I have also had to reach out to suppliers and find local supermarkets that would like to try add my tasty treats to their shelves.
All in all I am so far in a total of 7 local supermarkets and my new deserts will be ready to buy!
With that being said, let me share a tasty desert recipe with you. The beauty of most desert recipes is that you can add whatever fruit you have on hand. I have used all of the following combinations at different times:
- apple & peach
- apple & raspberry
- raspberry & white chocolate chunk
- pear and blueberry
- mixed berries
And just to tickle your fancy, here’s my super-dooper easy-peasy fruit tart recipe:
- 125g softened butter or margerine
- 1 cup of caster sugar
- 2 room temperature eggs
- 5 cups of self-raising flour
- Fruit of your choice (generally allow 1.5 – 2 cups of fruit)
- 2 tablespoons of icing sugar
Heat the oven to 160 degrees (fan forced) and line a springform tin with baking paper.
Beat the butter and sugar with electric beaters for around 2 minutes until they’re light and creamy. Add the eggs and beat for another 90 seconds on medium speed.
Fold in the flour then spoon the mix into the pre-prepared tin.
Scatter the fruit over the top of the tart mix and gently push the fruit down with your fingers into the mixture. Sprinkle with the icing sugar (yes, before you bake) and cook it for 45 minutes to an hour.
Serve warm with a dollop of ice-cream or cool desired.
See how easy it is, but it looks so wonderful people will think you’re a superstar. So make sure to try out this tasty recipe, and when you see my deserts in the stores, make sure to pick one up and give it a try!
